B-Roll of US and Chinese militaries working together during a disaster management exchange at Marine Corps Training Area-Bellows in Hawaii. The two militaries exchanged information about how each country responds to natural disasters and carries out humanitarian assistance. The exchange has been taking place since 2005, but this was the first time it included a field portion. The soldiers worked on search and rescue operations in an urban environment after a simulated earthquake. Chinese and American military leadership observed the final day of the exchange. Soldiers were from the People's Liberation Army and the Hawaii Army National Guard. Soundbites are from Major General Gary Hara, Deputy Commanding General of the Hawaii Army Nat'l Guard, and Rear Admiral Li Ji, Deputy Director of Chinese Ministry of Defense's Foreign Affairs Office. The exchange took place from 12-14 November 2013. Available in High Definition.
