It’s the monthly! Available in high definition.
On the 17th, General Dempsey, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, visited Minot Air Force Base to learn about our mission firsthand, and answer the questions of Airmen and their families at a Town Hall Forum.
The old control tower, which has been standing for more than 60 years, has been demolished.
Among the units to undertake special training this month were the 5th Civil Engineering Squadron, the 5th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, and security forces and firefighters.
The final week of June involved a DoD-wide SEXUAL ASSAULT PREVENTION and RESPONSE initiative. Minot Airmen attended SAPR-themed all calls, and large and small group discussions.
Marine Sergeant Chuck Lewis is walking for the fallen. He’s crossing the country on foot to remind Americans of the cost of freedom, and to raise money for wounded and disabled veterans programs. As of the 30th he’d raised nearly 15 thousand dollars.
We had quite a few changes of command and assumptions of command this month. A few units with new commanders include the 5TH OPERATIONS SUPPORT SQUADRON, the 69th Bomb Squadron, 91st SECURITY SUPPORT SQUARDRON, 5th Maintenance Group, 5th CONTRACTING SQUADRON, 705th Munitions Squadron, 5th MDOS, and 5th Logistics Readiness Squadron.
And that’s some of the stuff that went down in June. The winner of the Super-Diesel Award for the month of June is… CHIEF JURGELLA!
See you next time!
