  • The U.S. Army Pacific and the Bangladesh Armed Forces Division completed their annual Pacific Resilience Disaster Response Exercise and Exchange recently in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The 4-day event brought together over one hundred and sixty military and civilian subject matter experts and key responders in the fields of disaster management, relief and humanitarian assistance from both the U.S. and Bangladesh, including members of the USARPAC Contingency Command Post's Humanitarian Assistance Survey Team. The goal of the DREE is to improve interoperability and response planning in the event of a catastrophic earthquake. The event culminated with a field training exercise, a chance for the participants to share their final thoughts and a closing ceremony.   • The Hawaii National Guard recently took part in the fourth annual U.S. Army Pacific led Disaster Response Exercise and Exchange known as Pacific Resilience. The bilateral exercise was hosted at the International Peace and Security Center in Sentul, Indonesia, where participants discussed civil-military coordination, planning and response procedures in order to minimize the potential loss of life and property during a disaster.
