Soldiers from 1st battalion 5th infantry regiment, 1st Stryker brigade combat team, 25th infantry division, train in the art of live medical evacuation or MEDEVAC procedures in a joint exercise with pilots and crew members from Charlie Company 1st battalion 52nd Aviation Regiment, 16th Combat aviation brigade. The participants have already gone through classroom instruction consisting of; 9 line MEDEVAC radio call in procedures, Litter operation and how to effectively transport casualties to and from an aircraft. Soldiers then put their classroom instruction to the test, by actually securing, carrying, loading and offloading casualties onto a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter. Includes interview with 2nd Lt.
