Secretary of Defense, the Honorable Donald Rumsfeld visits with members of the 3rd Infantry Division, including 3rd ID Commander, Major General George Webster, Commanding General, Multi-National Forces Iraq, General George Casey, Commander of the Iraqi 1st Brigade, Brigadier General Jaleel, the Iraqi Command Sergeant Major, and the Chief of the Baghdad Police department. Secretary Rumsfeld hands out Purple Heart Medals to Soldiers wounded in action. He also assists Major General Webster in a re-enlistment ceremony for a hundred Marne Soldiers. Secretary Rumsfeld is presented a back plate from Specialist Anthony Dowden's personal body armor, who was struck in the back by a sniper round. Secretary Rumsfeld then says a few words about Sergeant First Class Paul Ray Smith and the Medal Of Honor and the importance of the Iraqi people being able to take over their own security and government.
