Rees, Adjutant General of Oregon oversees evacuation operations at the University of Oregon during Operation Vigilant Guard. 7 Minute B roll package on Oregon Guardsmen participating in Exercise Vigilant Guard. The video shows emergency evacuations being conducted at the University of Oregon’s Hayward Field in Eugene Oregon. This training will better prepare 1st responders in this area for the 2012 Olympic Trials being held at this location this summer.  Casualties are evacuated by Blackhawk helicopters and by ambulance to a collection point for further medical attention. This training is part of an emergency response exercise named Vigilant Guard conducted by multiple agencies across the state as well as National Guard representatives for other western states. Oregon was selected to participate in the exercise by the Department of Homeland Defense.

  • Rep. Greg Walden (R-OR); Brig. Gen. Mike Caldwell, Deputy Director of the Oregon Military Department; Oregon Air National Guard Commander Brig. Gen. Steven Gregg; and 173rd Fighter Wing Commander Col. Jeff Silver came together for a dedication ceremony for the Joint Armed Forces Reserve Center dedication, home to the 173rd Fighter Wing Security Forces Squadron Sept. 25, 2012 at Kingsley Field, Klamath Falls, Ore.

The new facility, located near the main entrance, houses the 173rd Security Forces Squadron, which just returned from a six-month deployment to Afghanistan. Available in high definition.
