Highway 1 is one of the most heavily used roads in Afghanistan and its upkeep is essential to smooth day-to-day operations of both ISAF and Afghan locals. When locals noticed one section of the highway was in danger of falling, crumbling into a nearby river, U.S. forces and a local Afghan company started a project to preserve the road. Staff Sergeant Katie Gray takes us to the Tarnak Wa Jaldak district in Zabul where it occurred. Soundbite includes Karim Wordak - Young Afghan Construction Company, site supervisor. Produced by SSG. Katie Gray. Also available in High Definition. The Zabul PRT and a local Afghan company are near the end of a project to keep one section of the highway from crumbling into a nearby river. Soundbite includes Karim Wordak - Young Afghan Construction Company, site supervisor.
