Air Crew from Hawaii Air National Guard and Soldiers from Hawaii’s CERFP Search and rescue team load truck and trailers in to a C-17 in a mock deployment for an off island disaster. The cargo was transported from Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam to Kaneohe Marine Corp Base, then off loaded and driven to and set up in the training area. This equipment will serve as a command center and medical treatment area for the disaster. Many of the CERFP soldiers we deployed to Samoa for the Earthquake and Tsunami in 2009 SOT.   • In the event of a natural or man-made disaster members of Hawaii National Guard prove are ready to respond to save lives and provide security.

Hawaii’s CERF-P team demonstrated their ability to respond to a mass casualty event in a contaminated area during a recent evaluation, where National Guard Soldiers and Airmen work and in hand to prepare them selves to respond to the unthinkable. CERF-P has special equipment, training and readiness for such an event. While their primary mission of Homeland Defense, they typically respond to earthquakes, floods, or storm cleanup. The teams are trained to locate and extract victims from a contaminated environment, perform mass patient/casualty decontamination, and provide treatment as necessary to stabilize patients for evacuation. The CERF-P teams are a key element of the Department of Defense’s overall program to provide military support to civil authorities in the event of a natural or human-caused disaster.
  • (Story) On Sept 11, members of the Mass. Air and Army National Guard gathered at Camp Edwards, Massachusetts for a 2-day exercise that is part of the state’s Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and high-yield explosive (CBRNE) Enhanced Response Force Package (CERFP).
The Massachusetts CERFP is composed of various Army and Air Guard units from throughout the state responsible for quick reaction to potential terrorist, natural or manmade disasters that may occur in Massachusetts or New England.
  • The California National Guard is getting certified to deliver it's CERFP team by military air so they can respond to incidents in Alaska and Hawaii.  The cargo must have six inches clearance from the C-17 wall and has load limitations.  Transporting the trucks, trailers and people took six trips from California to Wisconsin for Patriot Exercise 2011.
