Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force New York Marines perform an assault raid demonstration at Rye Playland Park, N.Y. during Fleet Week New York 2012, May 27. The Marines’ demonstration showed off the capabilities of both helicopter and infantry tactics as they landed and rushed toward the crowd. The Marines conducting the raid are from 1st Battalion 9th Marine Regiment and recently returned from their deployment to Afghanistan in December 2011. They came to FWNY 2012 aboard the USS Wasp, which docked at pier 92 in Manhattan, N.Y. from May 23-30 in support of FWNY 2012. Available in high definition.

The Enterprise, Ore., native recently returned from a deployment to Afghanistan with the dog he was preforming with, here, May 27. He is one of more than 3,000 Marines, Sailors and Coast Guardsmen in the area participating in community outreach events and equipment demonstrations as part of Fleet Week New York 2011.
