Cpl. William Rivera arrived at the Downtown Manhattan Heliport ahead of Fleet Week New York, May 22. Rivera is an operations clerk and Marine Corps marital arts instructor from Brooklyn. He is a member of the Special Marine Air Ground Task Force New York. Approximately 3,000 sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen will descend upon the city to celebrate the 25th Fleet Week New York, which will take place May 23 - 30. Fleet Week has been New York City's celebration of the sea services since 1984. It is an unparalleled opportunity for citizens of New York and the surrounding tri-state area to meet Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen, as well as see, firsthand, the latest capabilities of today's maritime services.
