Inclement weather is common for the Pacific Northwest even during the spring months. When the opportunity came to put on a benefit concert for the soldiers of JBLM the old phrase “the show must go on” took center stage. Soldiers waited patiently outside the gates of memorial stadium, some arriving an hour early just to get a good spot in front of the stage for the concert yet to come. As anticipation grew for Pitbull’s performance, the crowd of excited soldiers grew larger and larger. Where once there had been green grass covering the field of memorial stadium, now had turned to thickening, sloppy mud from the hundreds of feet trampling through it during the rain. As the light of day went away, the lights from the stage sprang to life as Pitbull made his entrance. The cheers from the crowd rang out with each rhyme Pitbull dealt and from that point on the rain and wind ceased to wary the soldiers as they celebrated the concert in their honor.
