Soldiers from seven different commands across the Army Central Command (ARCENT) start the first day of the 2012 Army Best Warrior Competition held the last week in April at Camp Buehring, Kuwait. This competition is sponsored by the 1st Theater Sustainment Command (TSC), based in Ft. Bragg, NC, and the 364th Expeditionary Sustainment Command (ESC), from Marysville Wash. Over three days, nine competitors from the non-commissioned officer (NCO) and junior enlisted ranks test their soldier skills in this hot, dusty environment. 00;00;05;00 Day two starts early at the Camp Buehring land navigation course, which is unique due to its lack of terrain features, making the soldiers compass skills more important than ever to find their plotted points. 00;00;39;09 Soldiers truck out to the range for rifle and pistol marksmanship tests to help determine top shot. 00;01;36;18 Following the firing range, competitors in this year’s competition are extracted by Blackhawk helicopter to the barracks for the night.
