With a growing interest in fitness in today's military, a few Airmen and Sailors have found a way to break a sweat, in a very unique way. Available in high definition.
A1C PERTUIT:
“Very slow, okay? We’re just walking thru this.”
*WHISTLE*
A1C PERTUIT:
“Derby isn’t quite like it used to be, so it’s not staged, it’s not like back in the 70’s or 80’s where somebody will come flying across the court and just kick somebody in the face or punch them. It’s not allowed.”
A1C PERTUIT:
“The girls do get to hit so it is a full contact sport, that’s why we wear pads, helmets that sort of thing, mouth pieces, but they love it. They get bruises, it’s like a badge of honor to them, they love showing them off.”
A1C PERTUIT:
“It’s extremely good exercise, as you can tell I’m sweating like crazy. It helps with agility, just balance, you know it’s a workout anybody who says it’s not is crazy.”
NARRATOR:
I DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU, BUT THAT SOUNDED LIKE A CHALLENGE TO ME.
A1C PERTUIT:
“At first we were a military affiliated only team, but we’ve recently opened it up to civilians.”
NARRATOR:
AND GUYS, THERE IS EVEN A PLACE FOR YOU. IT’S A CO-ED TEAM AND A CO-ED LEAGUE, IN FACT, THEY EVEN ENCOURAGE GUYS TO JOIN.
A1C PERTUIT:
“If you don’t like skating, or you feel that you can’t skate then you can always volunteer in different ways. We’re always looking for refs off skates, everything. If you just feel like you wanna support the league, then come on out.”
NARRATOR:
JUST DON’T FORGET YOUR FISHNETS! FOR JOINT BASE ANDREWS I’M AIRMAN FIRST CLASS NATASHA YARBRO.
