A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the primary school Sami Freseri in the Pirok Village, Bogovinje Municipality, Republic of Macedonia after a renovation project was complete. It was a $100,000 ODC Humanitarian Assistance Program in conjunction with USAID’s Primary Education Program. A new roof was installed, exterior walls were painted, and a hot water heating system was installed (diesel boiler, radiators, pipes). Prior to the new heating system the rooms were heated by stoves. Children did performances for the event. Vermont Major General Michael Dubie and Ambassador to the Republic of Macedonia Paul Wohlers gave speeches at the ceremony.
