Following the Flood of 2011 in the Missouri River Basin, the Omaha District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers classified five breaches along Levees L550 and L575 as time-sensitive, critical repairs. Working with contractors, local levee sponsors and interested parties like Responsible River Management, the Corps will meet its deadline of March 1, the symbolic start of the runoff season. The repairs will restore these segments of the levee to their pre-flood risk reduction status and enable the system to handle potential high water. Also available in high definition
