A retirement ceremony was held 19 Dec 2011 at Fort Shafter, HI for CSM Savusa, who held the title of Senior Enlisted for United States Pacific Command. Savusa, a native of American Samoa served in the U.S. Army for 36 years serving in a number of leadership positions, and deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan. In addition to numerous awards which include the Legion of Merit (2nd Oak Leaf Cluster) and Bronze Star with "V" device (2nd Oak Leaf Cluster), CSM Savusa was also awarded the Superior Service Medal at the ceremony. The ceremony ended with a reception for friends, families and fellow servicemembers to congratulate him on his many years of service.
