Early this Saturday, a critically ill 18-month-old child from Pago Pago was air lifted to Honolulu, Hawaii. The KC-135 crew from the Hawaii Air National Guard's 203rd Air Refueling Squadron, stepped in to fulfill what would normally have been a active duty mission. The aeromedical evacuation was coordinated between the Hawaii Air National Guard and the 13th Air Force's 613th Air and Space Operations Center's Air Mobility Division. The little boy was suffering from respiratory failure and needed immediate medical attention that could be provided in Honolulu. The child was taken from Joint Base Pearl Harbor- Hickam to Kapiolani Medical Center. Also available in high definition.
