 Army Chief of Staff visits Pacific
Gen. Raymond T. Odierno, Chief of Staff of the Army was in Hawaii this week to meet with Army leaders and commanders to discuss the future of the Army in the Pacific. This was his first stop as part of a larger tour of the Asia-Pacific region.
The Chief of Staff's visit follows announcements by both President Barack Obama and the U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta that the U.S. would be placing greater focus on the Pacific region.

 Hawaii Military Partnership Conference
Package about how Hawaii's Chamber of Commerce held it's 11th Annual Hawaii Military Partnership Conference in Honolulu early January. The conference included presentations by Army, Airforce, Navy and Marine Commanders to local community leaders, officials and business leaders. The conference highlighted the important role the military plays in the pacific region and gave military leaders a chance to impart a better understanding of the military's mission and what they do.  CSM Savusa Retirement - Broll
A retirement ceremony was held 19 Dec 2011 at Fort Shafter, HI for CSM Savusa, who held the title of Senior Enlisted for United States Pacific Command.
Savusa, a native of American Samoa served in the U.S. Army for 36 years serving in a number of leadership positions, and deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan.
In addition to numerous awards which include the Legion of Merit (2nd Oak Leaf Cluster) and Bronze Star with "V" device (2nd Oak Leaf Cluster), CSM Savusa was also awarded the Superior Service Medal at the ceremony.
The ceremony ended with a reception for friends, families and fellow servicemembers to congratulate him on his many years of service.
