USS Iwo Jima Returns from Continuing Promise Mission
USS Iwo Jima, along with various embarked units, returned to Norfolk, Va., Nov. 18, concluding four months at sea in support of the Caribbean phase of the humanitarian/civic assistance and humanitarian assistance/disaster relief missions for Continuing Promise 2010 - Partnership of the Americas.

For four months, a Marine Assault Amphibious Vehicle company ventured along the Caribbean, Central and South America to participate in subject matter expert exchanges with partner nations and to assist a Navy-led operation which brought humanitarian-civic assistance to partner nations during the summer and fall of 2010.


Marine Reserve CH-46 squadron delivers unprecedented support to Operation CP10
On July 12, 2010, Medium Marine Helicopter Squadron 774, a reserve squadron comprised of Active Duty, Active Reserve and Select Marine Corps Reserve Marines and sailors stationed at Naval Base Norfolk, Va., embarked on the USS Iwo Jima to serve as the Air Combat Element for Special-Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Continuing Promise 2010.
