On 10 April 2012, United States Armed Forces Members, Philippine Armed Forces and civilians conducted a medical symposium for health practitioners at the Legend Hotel, Bangaray Sub District, Puerto Princesa City, Palawa, Republic of the Philippines, as part of Exercise Balikatan 2012 humanitarian and civic assistance projects. Balikatan is an annual bilateral training exercise aimed at improving combined planning, combat readiness, humanitarian assistance and disaster relieve operations between the two partner nations.
