The final day of the 2012 Military Health System Conference started with a rousing, "Hell Yes!" from a crowd approximating 4000 military medical professionals affirming their pride in serving their fellow comrades in arms.

The second day of plenary meetings at the 2012 Military Health System Conference celebrated collaboration with the theme, “Increasing Value Through Integration.”

Tremendous strides made in military medicine during the last decade of war have helped increase the survival rate of wounded warriors to unprecedented levels, Navy Vice Adm. William E. Gortney, director of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Navy Rear Adm. David L. Smith, director of medical resources for the Navy’s plans and policy division, reported at the 2012 Military Health System Conference, Jan. 31, 2012. And, they said, a number of advancements will provide lasting benefits at home and abroad.
