In a crowded tent, July 25, at Kandahar Airfield, the Mississippi Army National Guard’s 184th Expeditionary Sustainment Command’s colors were cased to signify the end of their mission in Afghanistan during a transfer of authority ceremony.

 4th Expeditionary Sustainment Command arrives at Kandahar Airfield
The U.S. Army Reserve’s 4th Expeditionary Sustainment Command arrived at Kandahar Airfield July 7, 2011. The 4th Expeditionary Sustainment Command and its subordinate units will provide logistical support for the entire Afghanistan theater of operations.

 Mississippi Army National Guard Soldiers donate backpacks and school supplies to Afghan children
Children at the Kandahar Airfield Bazaar School were presented with backpacks and school supplies by members of the 184th Expeditionary Sustainment Command on Saturday, June 25. This was made possible by the work of Mr. Ed Funchess, owner of Mid Gulf Forestry, Inc., and students from Parklane Academy, McComb, Miss.

 JSC-A Soldiers Pursue Fitness Goals While Deployed
The rigors of a deployed environment can increase the difficulty of maintaining physical fitness, but the soldiers of the Mississippi National Guard’s 184th Expeditionary Sustainment Command/Joint Sustainment Command- Afghanistan are finding ways to stay fit while serving in support of Operation Enduring Freedom at Kandahar Airfield.

Spc. Ashley E. Crotwell is a human resources specialist with the Mississippi Army National Guard’s 184th Expeditionary Sustainment Command/Joint Sustainment Command–Afghanistan. She is currently assigned as a joint operations center administrator, and she also serves as a member of the commander’s personal security detail.
