Recent Video Purple Heart Ceremony MC2 Chandler
Rear Adm. Victor M. Beck recognizes Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Jonathan Chandler with a Purple Heart during a ceremony at Naval Air Station North Island Jan. 7, 2012. The ceremony acknowledged MC2 Chandler's actions in Afghanistan during a road side IED attack on Aug. 6, 2011 while he was deployed with the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force, 2nd Marine Division (Forward). MC2 Chandler is assigned to Fleet Command Combat Camera Group Pacific, which deploys combat trained personnel world wide to hostile environments to document combat operations. RIMPAC Ships Departing
USS Cleveland (LPD 7) and USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) depart Pearl Harbor to take part in exercises in connection with Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2010. RIMPAC is a biennial international military exercise invovling naval units from 14 countries and is designed to strengthen regional partnerships and improve multinational interoperability.
