 Texas Army National Guard Spouses Welcome Unit Home In Fort Bliss
It was hard to miss the two women in shorts and tank-tops standing by the entrance of the Biggs Air Field Terminal on Fort Bliss, El Paso, as they watched the recently deployed Bravo Battery of the 1st Battalion, 133rd Field Artillery Regiment, 72nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, out of Port Arthur, Texas, file across the tarmac after a twenty-hour flight bringing them back from Iraq on the morning of July 17.

 72nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team advanced liaison team Sets Tone for Bliss-full Demobilization
Representatives from units deployed to Iraq with the 72nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 36th Infantry Division, Texas Army National Guard, converged on Fort Bliss in early July to facilitate the administrative, medical and other out-processing activities required for release from active duty of approximately 2900 Soldiers still participating in Operation Iraqi Freedom with the 72nd IBCT.

Recent Video National Guard officer honored with ceremonial first pitch

Mark Campsey visits Minute Maid Park to throw out the ceremonial first pitch in Houston, Texas, Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011. The Houston Astros baseball club honored Col. Campsey with the gesture as part of his retirement from the Guard after more than 20 years of service. The last several years of his career were as the commander of Houston’s 72nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, and included leading the unit during its 2009-2010 deployment to Iraq, one of the largest deployments of the Texas Army National Guard since World War II.
