 “Water baptism represents death, the grave and resurrection,” said Chaplain Lt. Col. Joel Severson, Task Force 34 chaplain. “When you go in, it’s like dying. When you come up, you take a deep breath and live.”

Soldiers receive Combat Action Badge
 By order of Brig. Gen. John Nunn, assistant adjutant general for New Jersey National Guard, these Soldiers were to be awarded the Combat Action Badge for their service during their previous deployment in Iraq with B Company 434th Main Support Battalion in 2005. At that time, they were responsible for running convoy missions, hauling supplies and vehicles, as well as providing convoy security.
