News Stories Cougars receive Valorous Unit Award On Monday, Dec. 12, 2nd Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment units were presented with the Valorous Unit Award for their outstanding actions during the Regiment’s 2007 deployment to Iraq. Dragoons and Panzers partners in Grafenwoehr Training Area The ground in Grafenwoehr Training Area erupted Thursday, Dec. 8 as the Wolf pack Troopers of 3rd Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment joined forces with their German partnersof 4th Company, 104th Panzer Battalion for operation Iron Panzer. Dragoons give back As winter descends upon Bavaria, the Vilseck Health Clinic initiated its annual Influenza Vaccination Campaign in an effort to inoculate the children and elderly in the community from the dreaded flu bug. This year, medics from the 2nd Cavalry Regiment took time to give back to the community by volunteering to administer flu mist vaccinations at Department of Defense Education Activity Schools within the Grafenwohr and Vilseck community. 11.17.11 Story by Sgt. Dragoons conduct UAV training As the 2nd Cavalry Regiment continues the reset phase of its calendar, Troopers from Nomad’s Shadow platoon took to the air this week for some unmanned aerial systems flight time at the Vilseck Airfield on Rose Barracks. Rain or shine, the 2nd Cavalry Regiment and the German 2nd Aviation Detachment of the 25th Military Transportation Regiment completed a live air assault artillery raid during operation Raiding Hell. The mission is to pick up the artillery crews from fires squadron, hook up the Howitzers, drop them off at the designated area and fire. Staff Sgt. Jose Ibarra reporting from Grafnwoehr ,Germany.
