Welcome home daddy265th Movement Control Team small unit with a monumental task
In March 2003, the United States military crossed the border of Kuwait into Iraq. For nearly nine years, the men and women of the U.S. military have deployed to Iraq under two banners - Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn.

Acquiring the target‘Shoot Move Communicate’ soldiers of 3-38 Cavalry Regiment train to shoot
Three soldiers move in unison. Their movements were calculated and subtle. Wielding their shotguns with precision they pulled up and acquired their targets. With a barrage of fire the soldiers hit their targets with confidence and accuracy.

Cold brisk winds and recent snow on the ground added to the training for soldiers of the 308th Brigade Support Battalion. For two weeks they faced the harsh conditions Mother Nature had to offer at Yakima Training Center and the only thing keeping them going was the accomplishment of their mission and meals prepared by the food service specialists.

As a young boy growing up in rural Georgia Spc. Nicholas Duke would watch his father all night outside helping neighbors fix their cars and trucks, knowing that his father would have an early morning of work. If there was still work to be done on the vehicle Duke’s father would be out there the next evening. Duke said as a child he saw the selflessness of his father and decided to be the person who would always help those around him.

Trailblazer cooks whip up top-notch meal
Anyone who has seen the Walt Disney movie Tarzan probably remembers the scene of the young apes discovering the human camp. It’s like the chaos of the Trailblazer Dining Facility’s (DFAC) kitchen during a weekly Top Cook competition on Joint Base Lewis-McChord. The apes’ curiosity about humans and the accidental discovery of the sounds they could create, came together to make music. Like the apes in the movie, the Trailblazer cooks take unknown ingredients and put them together to create a mouth-watering meal.
