Iraqi army receives mine detection vehicle instruction from 10th Mtn. Soldiers
Soldiers with Company A, 1st Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 10th Mountain Division’s Sapper Platoon, recently conducted the ‘The Iron Claw Academy’; where members of the Iraqi army were trained by U.S. Soldiers in a series of ‘left seat-right seat’ exercises that taught the IA soldiers how to conduct route clearance operations to help ensure local roads were secure for travel.

Iraqi Army posts colors, CF retires colors at PB Pickett in Northern Rashaad Valley
As one flag was retired, another was raised - Soldiers of Company B, 2nd Battalion, 22nd Inf. Regt., 1st Brigade, 10th Mountain Division relinquished command of Patrol Base Pickett to Soldiers of 4th Company, 15th Battalion, 4th Iraq Army Division during a transfer of authority ceremony, Sept. 4, 2008, at the PB located in the northern Rashaad Valley in the province of Kirkuk.

Return to Normalcy – Relationship between the Coalition Forces, Iraqi People – Positive Steps forward
In the southern Rishad valley in the Kirkuk province, lies the remote village of Gaydah; located several miles off the nearest main road and even further from the nearest substantial city or district. Already accustomed to seclusion, the village residents are surprised when Soldiers from 2nd Battalion, 22nd Inf. Regt., 1st Brigade, 10th Mountain Division showed up in their community in February. Kirkuk Police Academy training-up females in northeastern Iraq
Thirty-seven females attended the first day of training at the Kirkuk Police Academy outside of Kirkuk city, Iraq, Aug. 16, 2008. It’s been a year since the academy has seen any Iraqi females in blue and not a class of this size. (08/16/08)
