188th Infantry Brigade and 3rd Infantry Division - Teaming to Train for Raider Focus
As 1st Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division prepares for a pending deployment, team work is setting the stage and foundation for successful future operations in Iraq. Operation Raider Focus, an ongoing 21-day field training exercise at Fort Stewart, is an opportunity for 1st Brigade Soldiers to sharpen their skills for combat, but the training is also a prime opportunity for team work between the Marne Division and the 188th Infantry Brigade, a training support brigade from First Army Division East, headquartered at Fort Stewart. Teaming to train the 143rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command
The "Battle Ready" 188th Infantry Brigade, a training brigade of First Army Division East, is responsible for training ready oversight and mobilization of National Guard, Reserve, designated active and other forces to provide ready units to regional combatant commanders. The 188th Infantry calls Fort Stewart home, but often facilitates training of Guard and Reservists at distant mobilization sites. The 188th is currently at Fort Bragg teaming with several other units to train the Orlando, Fla. based 143rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command (ESC). (08/21/09)

56th Infantry Brigade Combat Team Cases Colors, Departs for Iraq
Nearly 3,500 Soldiers from the 56th Infantry Brigade Combat Team of the Texas National Guard stood at attention on Fort Stewart's Cottrell Field Saturday, Nov. 2, 2008, as the unit's colors were cased marking the end of post-mobilization training and the start of the unit's movement into Iraq to support Operation Iraqi Freedom. 56th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Ready for Combat
Soldiers from the Texas National Guard 56th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (IBCT) are nearing the end of post-mobilization training at Fort Stewart, Ga.
