Camp Shelby combat outpost situational exercise
 The 177th Armored Brigade based at Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center, Camp Shelby, Miss., is responsible for the pre/post mobilization training of many National Guard and Reserve units deploying and returning from combat missions.

Navy Group 6 Prepares for Afghanistan at Camp Shelby. Miss.
Navy Group 6, a 50-Sailor team from naval commands throughout the nation, is currently preparing for their mission to Afghanistan at Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center, Camp Shelby, Miss. Once in theater, the group will perform detainee operations at a facility in Bagram.

Noncommissioned Officers and Soldiers Compete For Top Honor
 Nominees for the 177th Armored Brigade, Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center, Camp Shelby, Miss., Noncommissioned Officer/Soldier of the Quarter competition began Oct. 28. The two-day competition consisted of several events to include a written test, an army physical fitness test, a land navigation course, M16 weapons qualification, a four-mile road march, buddy team lifesaving procedures under combat-like conditions, and a question and answer board in Class A uniform.

Master Sgt. Maranda McCorvey Spearheads Equal Opportunity
 Master Sgt. Maranda McCorvey, equal opportunity advisor for the 177th Armored Brigade (Spearhead Brigade), Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center here has been very busy lately. Most recently, returning to her alma mater, Pascagoula High School, in Pascagoula, Miss., this time as a mentor to the members of the Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps, in which she was a cadet and a graduate.
