45th IBCT goes to the field Field training exercises are a long-practiced Army tradition. This training, referred to as an FTX, incorporates many different training scenarios. When the 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Oklahoma National Guard, took to the field at Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center there was no exception.

45th IBCT gets rolled The 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team is currently training for their upcoming deployment to Afghanistan at Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center. Throughout training, the theme has been “Training Saves Lives.” Egress training is especially important in that aspect due to the number of deaths and injuries vehicle rollovers have caused. 05.4.11 Courtesy Story
45th IBCT goes live The 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Oklahoma National Guard, has been training for deployment at Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center since late March and squad live fire has been a big part of that training.

Military kid of the year Chris-Shanti La’ Connia Jackson has been chosen as one of four military “kids” of the year through the “Our Military Kid” program. Chris-Shanti, the only child chosen from Mississippi, won the honor through her dedication and devotion to her community and other military families “Our Military Kid” program, a nonprofit organization, provides grants to the children of soldiers serving on active duty. The $500 grant allows the child to participate in activities; Chris-Shanti used her grant to further her talent in tumbling and cheerleading. 04.13.11 Courtesy Story
