 158th Wing Director of Psychological Health
“I want people to think of good health when they think of me,” Dr. Carolyn Basiliere, the new 158th wing director of psychological health, said. Basiliere is part of the new program the Air Force began implementing specifically for Air Guard bases, where there were no official military positions for mental health providers. Over the next few years, there will be a civilian director of psychological health on every air guard base.

 Wings of Change
With mixed emotions, hundreds of guardsmen of the 158th Fighter Wing looked on as Colonel Douglas Fick solemnly handed the Wing guidon over to his successor, Colonel David Baczewski on January 8th. This symbolic transfer of the mantle of Wing Commander commemorates the closing of a 4-year era where Fick has led the 158th through an arduous major inspection (ORI) which put the base in the running as a candidate for the F-35.

Medical Group passes inspection
Satisfactory.
That is the score the 158th Medical Group got on their recent Health Services Inspection and Maj. Michael Romp was more than satisfied. The medical group, hamstrung by the constraints of the Operational Readiness Inspection, didn’t have the 24-month window suggested by inspectors to prepare.
