[20] Successful Elections Prove Progress in Iraq
 On March 7, Iraqi citizens in Diyala province proved their desire for democracy and chose to ignore threats of violence and harm. Iraqi security forces showed they know how to plan and execute successful security operations to allow this democratic process to happen. They demonstrated what they have learned and what they have always been capable of, all in one day.

 Communication between forces in different areas are an important thing in the Army. The 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division has an entire company of Soldiers dedicated to keeping proper lines of communication open.

[20] Small Gift Creates Hope for a Better Future
 The village of Karbul, in the Diyala province, is a small community which faces many challenges as it builds toward the future. Of its 600 residents, approximately 60 percent are currently unemployed. For children going to school, a journey to a village about a mile away is required. Trips for medical treatment usually take at least one day if not two.

 Soldiers in the 334th Signal Company, 296th Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, have a fairly typical daily routine. Usually it involves missions, workouts, and in downtime, video games or other activities with their comrades.

[20] Frontline Soldiers operate Warhorse Woodshop
One thing that continuously catches peoples' eyes on Forward Operating Base Warhorse, Iraq, is the intricately detailed wooden signs in front of buildings throughout the base. These works-of-art are created by two Soldiers from Task Force Frontline, 296th Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division.

 Roughly halfway through their deployment, Soldiers from the 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, witnessed the fruits of their labor, as well that of those who went before them, as Iraqi citizens went to the polls to vote in their national elections Sunday.
