US Army issues sources sought notice for network technology
The U.S. Army, through the System of Systems Integration Directorate, announced that it is seeking interested industry and government sources with mature solutions to enhance existing network systems capabilities to participate in the Network Integration Evaluation 13.1 event, scheduled to occur in October/November 2012 at Fort Bliss, Texas and White Sands Missile Range, N.M. The NIE is a series of semi-annual evaluations designed to further integrate and mature the Army’s tactical network, and accelerate and improve the way network technologies are delivered to soldiers.

Let Them Walk in Our Shoes
6,300 shoes were donated from various Pennsylvania communites and the Pennsylvania National Guard to the 'Let Them Walk in Our Shoes' project. This project focuses on giving shoes to families and children in need. This year 3500 of those shoes were sent to the 4th Infantry Division currently stationed at COB Speicher. Various units on COB speicher hosted and Iraqi Kids day for an orphanage in Tikrit, where the handed out the shoes.


Operation Proper Exit Radio PKG
Veterans who were wounded in action return to Iraq to the area where they had been injured. The Troops First Foundation, along with the USO, sponsers Operation Proper Exit, to give Wounded Warriors a chance to heal and leave Iraq on their terms. One of their stops was to COB Speicher.


Site Exploitation Training
U.S. troops along with Iraqi Police and Iraqi Soldiers are going through Site Exploitaiton traing together for the first time. American advisors taught the classes and U.S. soldiers assisted the Iraqi's during the practical exercise. They learned how to process crime scenes the right way so evidence may be later used in court.


Iraqi Rotary Wing Pilot Graduation
Rotary Wing Pilots have graduated from the Iraqi Air Force College, based out of Tikrit. These pilots will go on to patrol the skies and help keep Iraq safe.
