MCAS Miramar Falcons celebrate success of season

MARINE CORPS AIR STATION MIRAMAR, Calif. – The Marine Corps Air Station Miramar Falcons held a banquet aboard MCAS Miramar, Calif., Dec. 1, to close out the season.
Players, coaches and family members came to show their appreciation for all the hard work Marines put into the season.

“It has been a pleasure coaching this team,” said Staff Sgt. Michael Goday, the special teams coach for the Falcons and a Miami native.

Col. John P. Farnam, the commanding officer of MCAS Miramar, attended and expressed his appreciation for the Falcons and their work this season.

“I want to thank all of you for your work and dedication,” said Farnam to the team. “You guys did great and I can’t wait for next year.”

All the coaches could not have asked for a better team, explained Master Gunnery Sgt. Carlice Moffett, assistant head coach of the Falcons.

“They are going to go far, and we have high hope for the next season with all the talent we have on this team,” said Moffett.

Players received a certificate signed by the commanding officer and two team photos, one of the team and one of the team with the San Diego Chargers.

The Falcons plan to kick off practice for next season in April and hope to take the championship back.
