Capt. Brandt flies Harrier demo at Duluth Air Show

MARINE CORPS AIR STATION CHERRY POINT, N.C. — Capt. Christopher E. Brandt, a pilot training officer with Marine Attack Squadron 223, Marine Aircraft Group 14, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, based out of Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, is scheduled to perform an AV-8B Harrier level III flight demonstration during the Duluth Air Show, Duluth, Minn., Sept. 22-23.

The Harrier level III demonstration is one of the most sought-after aerial demonstrations offered by the U.S. military. Demonstrations are performed by the same aircraft and Marines who train and deploy in support of real-world contingencies, including on-going operations in Afghanistan.

Brandt is one of a small, select group of pilots who are hand-picked by Headquarters Marine Corps to demonstrate the capabilities of the AV-8B Harrier II to the public.

The purpose of level III demonstrations is to show the American public the skills of their Marine pilots and the capabilities of the world famous vertical-takeoff jet.
