FORT KNOX, Ky. - U.S. Army NHRA Racing Top Fuel drivers Tony "The Sarge" Schumacher and Antron Brown were at Heartland Park Topeka in Topeka, Kan., Sunday, May 21, for the Dollar General NHRA Summer Nationals, while U.S. Army NASCAR Racing driver Ryan Newman took to Charlotte Motor Speedway, Saturday, May 19, night for the non-points Sprint All-Star race.

Both Schumacher and Brown were beaten in the quarterfinals by Spencer Massey and Doug Kalitta, respectively. With their early-round losses, Schumacher dropped from first to second in the standings and Brown was pushed from second to third. Next up for the pair is the Toyota NHRA Supernationals, May 31-June 3, at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, N.J.

Newman started second in the annual Sprint All-Star event, but a loose-handling car forced the driver of the No. 39 Stewart-Haas Racing Chevrolet to settle for a 10th-place finish. He will return to point-paying racing next Sunday night in the Coca-Cola 600 back at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

As part of the pre-race ceremonies for NASCAR's longest event, Schumacher and Brown will perform twin burnouts. It will be Don Schumacher Racing's Memorial Day salute to those soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country's freedom.
