ISA AIR BASE, Bahrain – Command Sgt. Maj. John D. Fourhman, Third Army/ARCENT command sergeant major and a Columbus, Ga., native, visited troops here Sept. 2.

During his visit, Command Sgt. Maj. Fourhman expressed his gratitude while handing out Third Army coins to service members who have exceeded the standard with their hard work and dedication.

He then took time to visit troops, including many service members that run and maintain the Patriot Air Missile Defense Systems.

“Air missile defense is a growing business,” said Fourhman. “Maintaining stability in the region helps put our partner nations’ worries at ease. These soldiers are playing a critical role in improving our foxhole, and everything they do here is very important.”

After visiting multiple Patriot sites, Fourhman was given a tour of new renovations being made, including an upgraded gym that just opened and a new dining facility being developed.

“We just opened our new gym, and soldiers are very excited to use it,” explained Sgt. Maj. Gregory Boone, 2nd Battalion, 43rd Air Defense Artillery, operations sergeant major and a Hernando, Miss. native. “This gym is much larger and has brand new equipment for service members to utilize. Also, the new dining facility is well underway, and troops will be able to choose from a much larger variety of food, including freshly-made sandwiches.”

As Fourhman’s visit came to an end, Sgt. Jason Aull, 2-43 ADA Bn., and an Owensboro, Ky. native, said he felt great pride in being recognized for his hard work.

“It’s good to see him come down here,” Aull added. “Someone in his position has to have an extremely busy schedule, so it means a lot that he took time to come down and express his appreciation for what we do here.”

Third Army’s commitment to both the well-being of its soldiers, as well as the service members of partner nations remains a priority. Through morale-building events such as Fourhman’s visit to Bahrain, Third Army is helping to inspire, educate and inform service members, the strength of our nation.
