99th RSC honors Army civilians with achievement awards

JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST, N.J., -- Five U.S. Army civilian employees received special achievement awards from Maj. Gen. William D. Razz Waff, commanding general, 99th Regional Support Command during the 99th RSC monthly ‘Dauntless Call’ at the Maj. John P. Pryor Army Reserve Center.

The Department of the Army Achievement Medal for Civilian Service is awarded for noteworthy achievements. It is the fifth-highest award in the Department of the Army Honorary Awards scheme for Department of the Army employees, ranking just below the Commander's Award for Civilian Service.

The awardees were:

Lisa Hernandez distinguished herself during the 99th RSC’s Customer Support Conference through her creative problem solving, fastidious attention to detail and arduous hours of planning and preparation.

Gary Melgar, as a food service specialist, assisted in the repair of US Army Reserve Center kitchens, enabling hundreds of food service personnel to train, saving the Army Reserve thousands of dollars in catered meal expenses.

Daniel Tate was solely responsible for the monitoring and scheduling of three computer labs within the 99th RSC headquarters, worth more than $400,000. In addition, he is the key custodian for the entire command, consisting of command and control of more than 200 keys for all departments.

Daisy Robles demonstrated commitment to excellence and strong organizational skills in providing outstanding food services in support of the 99th RSC’s Customer Support Conference.

Clifford Booth was instrumental in the production of media support for the 99th RSC’s Customer Support Conference.

The 99th Regional Support Command acts as a “virtual installation” that provides world-class base operations support to over 50,000 Army Reserve Soldiers, 400 units and 300 facilities for the entire Northeast Region from Maine to Virginia for the Army Reserve in order to give its warrior-citizens and their families the finest care, support, services and training.
