KANDAHAR, Afghanistan – Fifteen Afghan National Police graduated the advanced crime scene course at the Police Training Academy at Camp Nathan Smith, June 25.
“Today they will serve their society, their people,” said Brig. Gen. Poh Zarifi, the commander of the Regional Training Center of Kandahar.
The five week course taught ANP officers how to cordon-off crime scenes, properly collect evidence, question suspects and interview witnesses.
The course is all Afghan led.
“We are only mentoring the Afghan trainers. Throughout the class, Mohammad Allah, the class instructor, would consult us on specific situations that might come up,” said Roger Malone, an Institutional Trainer with DynCorp.
“We feel confident [the graduates] will go forth and do a good job serving [their] country and the citizens of Afghanistan,” said Michael Beasley, the lead Institutional Trainer with DynCorp.
This training and subsequent graduation is not the first of its kind, and will not be the last.
