KANDAHAR, Afghanistan – Afghan national police officers from subdistrict eight of Kandahar City, Kandahar province, received tactical training April 20 – April 26 from their International Security Assistance Force partners.
The training was an opportunity to conduct collective training and build cohesion, which will enhance the camaraderie and work skills of the officers.
The trainees were taught various tactics to include: basic rifle marksmanship, surveillance techniques, vehicle searches, first aid, patrol techniques and counter-narcotics.
“Our ANP partners continue to be extremely positive and receptive with every training iteration,” said U.S. Army Maj. Earl Brown, public affairs officer, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division. “Working side-by-side with their ISAF partners, new ANP officers are taught the basics of community policing and are improving every day.”
