KANDAHAR, Afghanistan – Afghan National Police, in partnership with International Security Assistance Forces, captured two low-level insurgent leaders Feb. 24, during a joint operation in sub-district 4 of Kandahar City.

The two men are suspected of being Taliban facilitators and improvised explosive device fabricators.

Acting on intelligence provided by local residents, ANP secured a compound, where they identified and detained.

“Capturing these insurgent leaders disrupts the insurgent network in Kandahar City,” said U.S. Army Maj. Earl Brown, public affairs officer, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division. “Information seized from these men increases our grip on other Taliban networks targeting government officials and security forces.”
