Adams, of Bismarck, has served for more than 32 years in the North Dakota National Guard.

Maj. Gen. David Sprynczynatyk, North Dakota adjutant general, commended Adams for his loyalty, dedication and professionalism displayed throughout his career.

"I've had the opportunity to watch Dale grow and excel during his years with the North Dakota National Guard," Sprynczynatyk said. "He has made a positive difference in our Guardsmen's lives by being a devoted and proficient leader."

Adams addressed fellow soldiers and airmen in attendance and thanked them for their service to their state and nation.

"I have been privileged to have served with you throughout the years," he said. "All of my accomplishments could not have been achieved without your efforts."
