JAMESTOWN, Ky. -- A day after Lt. Gen. Robert Van Antwerp, the chief of engineers and commanding general of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, held his town hall meeting with Corps employees in Nashville, he flew by helicopter to Wolf Creek Dam to see, first-hand, progress on the project and meet with Corps employees in the power plant.
After arriving, Van Anwerp took a tour of the project and attended an awards ceremony at the powerhouse led by Wolf Creek Resident Engineer, Kathy Lust.
“I don’t think I could have come to the Nashville District without visiting the Wolf Creek Dam project,” said Van Antwerp, as Lust briefed him on progress and procedures used by Treviicos-Soletanche JV employees.
He stopped and carefully watched a Wirth Drill in action and turned his attention to the employees and commented about how proud he is of them.
“I’m proud of the work you’re doing,” said Van Antwerp. “I’m glad to be here and see the great work you’re doing, and it’s recognized,” he added.
