US Coast Guard C-130 Hercules Aircraft Participates in 'Boss Lift'

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.— A Coast Guard C-130 Hercules aircraft and crew from Air Station Clearwater, Fla., participated in "Boss Lift" Oct. 29, which was created by the Florida Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve.

"Boss Lift" allowed employers and civic leaders from across Florida to visit with their employees, who are also members of the 53rd Infantry Brigade of the Florida National Guard. The 53rd IB is at Camp Blanding, Fla., training for their January 2010 mission to Iraq.

The Coast Guard C-130 aircrew provided transportation to Camp Blanding for the employers. The aircrew embarked passengers from Clearwater and Opa Locka, Fla., on its way to Camp Blanding, and they returned the employers home at the end of the day's events.

ESGR is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the law, and resolving conflict through mediation.
