THAWRA 1, Iraq - Since opening their doors in late April, the Civil Military Operations Center and Iraqi Assistance Center have helped serve the Iraqi people of Sadr City through claims filing, essential services repair and humanitarian assistance missions.

To date, 3,450 food packs have been distributed, five cooperative medical engagements have been conducted and two construction material drops have been facilitated through the CMOC.

The CMOC also has members of the local government on site to help facilitate essential services repairs in the area. Additionally, an Iraqi army representative helps coordinate humanitarian relief missions for the people.

The IAC, which provides Iraqi citizens with a way to file claims for damages incurred as a result of coalition forces action and located detained family members, has helped the people of Sadr City by paying out 19 claims, receiving 579 walk-in visits seeking information about filing a claim, numerous tips about special groups activity in the area, and answered more than 30 phone calls.
