QUANTICO, Va. -The Marine Corps Recruiting Command (MCRC) is excited to announce the kick-off of the Semper Fidelis Football Program Selection Tour. The tour is a four-month process leading up to the 4th annual nationally televised Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl that will take place in Carson, Calif., January 4, 2015.

The Semper Fidelis Football Program is unique because it brings together the nation’s best and brightest high school football players from across the country, who demonstrate success both on and off the gridiron.

“We’re excited to give these players the spotlight,” said Lt. Col. Raphael Hernandez, assistant chief of staff for advertising, Marine Corps Recruiting Command. “In addition to being talented football players, these men are high academic performers and leaders in their communities, the type of individuals we want to recognize. The tour and jersey presentations will hopefully hype the players for the remaining months leading up to bowl week.”

Semper Fidelis All-Americans are selected for being among the top-rated high school football players in the nation; however, the selection process is also dedicated to choosing players based on their character, academic performance and leadership. The Semper Fidelis Football Program demonstrates the Marine Corps’ commitment to developing quality citizens and reinforces its core values of honor, courage and commitment.

During the hometown recognitions, Marines will present the selected players an official Semper Fidelis All-American jersey. Parents, peers and community leaders are invited to attend and join in honoring their hometown athletic scholar.
