FORT BRAGG, N.C. -- Paratroopers, friends and families witnessed the passing of the colors of the 2nd Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division from Lt. Col. Albert J. Paquin to Lt. Col. Chess P. Lamm during a ceremony at Stang Field on Fort Bragg, N.C., June 18.

Paratroopers, friends and families witnessed the passing of the colors of the 2nd Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division from Lt. Col. Albert J. Paquin to Lt. Col. Chess P. Lamm during a ceremony at Stang Field on Fort Bragg, N.C., June 18.

The ceremony formally marked the Black Falcon’s change of command as the brigade begins an intensive training cycle to prepare for their assumption of the Global Response Force mission later this year.

“I am honored to once again join your formation,” said Lamm, commander of the Black Falcons. “I am thrilled with the opportunity to work with all of you as the battalion transforms, modernize and maintains a high state of readiness.”

Under Paquin’s command, the battalion fielded the M119A3 105mm howitzer and added a battery of M777 155mm howitzer. Paquin was also instrumental in the brigade’s advancement in using the RQ-7 Shadow Tactical Unmanned Aircraft System in the role of forward observer and as a communications retransmission platform.

“I am proud of each and every one of you for your dedication to do what’s right,” said Paquin to the Black Falcon paratroopers. “I humbly thank you all for your service.”
