I.G. Brown TEC earns 10th Air Force Organizational Excellence Award

MCGHEE TYSON AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Tenn. - The I.G. Brown Training and Education Center here recently earned the Air Force Organizational Excellence Award for its work in engaging, educating and inspiring leaders, and other meritorious service, from Oct. 1, 2011 to Sept. 30, 2013.

"Once again, the TEC team has demonstrated extraordinary excellence in achieving our mission and supporting America's Airmen!" said Col. Tim Cathcart, commander, in an email.

The TEC was noted for its professional and continuing education of more than 3,000 service members in a variety of courses and workshops.

The Paul H. Lankford Enlisted Professional Military Education Center delivered more than 3,900 EPME graduates from the Air Force, Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve Command and the Coast Guard, as well as graduates from Canada and Bulgaria.

The TEC completed a $2.7 million upgrade to the TEC TV Warrior Network and transmitted more than 2,000 hours of command messages and training.

The TEC also strengthened relationships with its customers and joint mission providers as well as relationships within the local community.

This is the TEC's 10th such recognition since its establishment in 1968.
