3rd CAB Soldiers participate in spring clean

HUNTER ARMY AIRFIELD, Ga. – Springtime is here, and with it comes the annual cleaning up what Mother Nature and mankind has left laying around from winter.

Dogface Soldiers of the 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade participated in a post wide spring clean up on Hunter Army Airfield April 14-18.

“It’s important to spruce up the place after the long winter,” said Staff Sgt. Alfred Camacho, orderly room noncommissioned officer in charge, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3rd CAB.

“Now that summer is coming and we are getting plenty of April rain, the grass is starting to grow faster and we need to maintain it,” continued Camacho.

While HAAF may not be the largest post in the Army, it does have a lot of areas to clean. The brigade divided up the common areas to clean in an effort to be effective and efficient.

According to Camacho, the goal of the cleanup is to make HAAF somewhere Soldiers can be proud to live and work.

For Spc. Shalaya O’Neal, an aviation operations specialist, HHC, 3rd CAB, having a clean work area not only can instill pride, but also demonstrate professionalism.

“I believe it’s important to clean up our post because we’re very proud of our post, and proud of the 3rd Infantry Division,” said O’Neal. “As a Soldier I try to take pride in everything I do.”
