April 2 shooting incident on Fort Hood leaves four dead, 16 wounded

There are four deceased Soldiers and 16 wounded from a shooting incident on Fort Hood April 2.

Spc. Ivan Antonio Lopez was identified as the person responsible for the shooting incident, and is one of the deceased.

The other three deceased are:

Sgt. 1st Class Daniel Michael Ferguson, 39, whose home of record is listed as Mulberry, Fla., entered active-duty service in July 1993 as a transportation management coordinator. He was assigned to the 49th Transportation Battalion (Movement Control), 4th Sustainment Brigade, 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), where he served as a transportation supervisor.

Staff Sgt. Carlos A. Lazaney-Rodriguez, 38, whose home of record is listed as Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, entered active-duty service in February 1995 as a unit supply specialist. He was assigned to the 21st Combat Support Hospital, 1st Medical Brigade in February 2012 where he served as a unit supply sergeant.

Sgt. Timothy Wayne Owens, 37, whose home of record is listed as Effingham, Ill., entered active-duty service in June 2004 as a motor transport operator.

He was assigned to the 49th Transportation Battalion (Movement Control), 4th Sustainment Brigade, 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), where he served as a heavy vehicle driver.

Lopez, 34, whose home of record is listed as Guayanilla, Puerto Rico, entered active duty service in June 2008 and was currently assigned to 49th Transportation Movement Control Battalion, 4th Sustainment Brigade, 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary).

The Criminal Investigation Division of the United States Army continues as the lead investigating agency and are now synchronizing all of the investigative work of the federal, state, local and Army agencies throughout Fort Hood and the surrounding area.

Fort Hood officials are committed to letting the investigation run its course. There are no indications at this time of any links to terrorist organizations of any type either national or international.
